This is where you can hear my thoughts and progress in my art and projects.
I found a name for SKLBOY and JAWKD! Mors and Nex. Mors and Nex are both names that mean death, but Nex has the connotation of being a violent dead, or murder. I feel like this
fits the characters as they are both in-training torturers in Hell, with Mors being undedicated to it (giving him the connotation of general death) and Nex being very dedicated to
his future as a torturer (giving him the connotation of violent death).
Currently, I am continuing work on the series, with a 'pitch bible', and a pilot script. I have also decided on an ending!
Also, here are the currently concept sketches for Mors and Nex:
I will soon update the gallery with the new information!
Recently, I've been working on the ending for Aiming for Angel. It is really my first big narrative project. While Out for Kicks was my first time writing a script for
a project, Aiming for Angel is going to be my first time where there is an actual beginning to end- Out for Kicks was only a snapshot inside the lives of a few characters, there
was never a true ending, just the assumption that the characters would go on to continue living their lives even after the camera turned off with not much change.
Aiming for Angel is different, it has a beginning, middle and end. Only the beginning has been written so far and there is concepts for the middle. But the end? I'm utterly
undecided. If you've read the project page for Aiming for Angel on my Gallery, you probably have already have an idea of what the potential endings preside on: does Dolli get to
meet an angel, will Dolli return to Earth or end up in Heaven, will SKLBOY go to Earth or stay in Hell. With those as the questions, there is a minimum of EIGHT endings I could
go for, never mind how many could be possible if I start throwing in utter curveballs.
So, like, what do I do? How do I give those questions an answer that is satisfying?
Currently, my solution, crafted with help from my friend, (thank u pookie) is to plan out what possible growth my characters would need to achieve either endings and write the
middle in a way where them picking either would still make sense to their post-arc character, and creating alternate cuts of the ending to show to peers so that they can determine
what ending they find satisfactory.
Currently, I think I will be working on a pilot and pitch bible for the series as my dream goal for Aiming for Angel is for it to be a show, preferably one built on that older TV
structure that allowed for 'filler' (or, imo, downtime) episodes that gave the characters a chance to interact more and, therefore, flesh them out and create a stronger connection
with the audience. So ending concepts, a pilot, and a pitch bible will be what I'm currently working on. I've also been attempting to work on an animation meme about Beelzebub and
his envy around being unable to feel God's Light and his memories of being a cherub.
